Proactive Change: Integrative coaching helps you get more out of life & work |
|
I will help you turn life's challenges into a springboard for new beginnings. Instead of just coping with problems, you begin to see new options, and opportunities to make choices. Coaching is action-oriented. I help you set meaningful goals, make regular progress, and achieve these goals: - Our appointments create a structure where you have time to observe and reflect on your goals and what you are actually doing toward realizing them. This structure fosters a sense of self-responsibility and accountability, in a way that is productive and self-supportive way (as opposed to harsh, counterproductive self-criticism). - You develop your capacity for self-awareness. You notice that part of your “default mode” is made up of ineffective patterns of thought and behavior that were so ingrained you didn’t even think there could be alternatives. You expand your range by exploring different approaches. - This creative exploration is grounded in the present, in learning from experience as opposed to mindlessly rehashing old complaints about the past. This is not about pretending that the past has no effect on your present circumstances – it does. So it makes sense to deal with the way your past may be affecting you in the present, and how changing this can improve your future. - Over time, you expand your resiliency – your ability to deal with stress and challenges with “grace under pressure”. Another way to describe this is to say that you are better able, not just to overcome challenges, but also to learn from them, to make meaning from the experience, and thus be more prepared for future challenges. Some of my clients see coaching as a sort of mind workout: It gives you a fresher outlook on things... the way that regular physical workouts will positively affect your body and spirit. You can get from life coaching what professional athletes
get from their sports coaching: Other clients seek coaching to help during a period of transition. You may be facing difficult decisions... Or you're feeling stuck... Or you need to change careers... Or you're going through relationship problems or a breakup...
