A divorced dad is still a dad: Fathers rights & responsibilities in divorce & child custody

It should be self-evident: a divorced dad is still a dad.

The reality of divorce is a rude awakening:
- Joint custody is the outcome in only 2 out of 10 divorce cases.
- In 7 out of 10 divorce cases, the father is declared the non-custodial parent.

As a divorced dad, you probably feel betrayed, isolated, misunderstood... you feel that your rights to be a father are being trampled on.

I want to suggest the following perspective:

"What you’re fighting for is not the right to be a parent. You are a parent. No one can take this away from you. What you’re fighting for is better conditions to be the parent you want to be."
