There is an enormous difference between talking about what’s important to you, and actually doing something about it. Insight alone isn't much help if it doesn't turn into action.

I could describe myself as a therapist, a coach, or both.  I prefer to say that I help people change. I help you take a more proactive approach to the challenges of life, work and relationships. In this, my work covers the whole spectrum that ranges from therapy to coaching.

There are real differences between the two ends of the spectrum, but a lot of shades of gray in between the black and the white.

One way to express the difference is that:
- therapy fosters self understanding and healing,
- while coaching is about accomplishing concrete things. 

This distinction is useful: The work I do with any given client, in any given session, depends on your situation, needs and wants.


In any case, this approach is proactive: I help you focus self-knowledge toward making things happen. This goes whether you have concrete goals... or more subjective ones (such as getting unstuck, or feeling happier).

My role is to use the time we have together, whether by phone or in person, to create a space where something new can emerge... where insights, ideas and inspiration can sneak up on you from inside as if by surprise.

The change you achieve is lasting, because things are changing from inside out.
