Grief counseling |
|
|
It is normal to grieve when we suffer a loss -- in fact, not grieving would be abnormal. But it's also too easy to be overwhelmed by grief, engulfed in it, to the point where we can no longer see a way out of it. At such a time, it doesn't serve to deny the pain. What helps is to observe it with compassion, to better understand it, to experience it without being swallowed by it. Grief therapy is not about imposing a roadmap on your grief. It is about creating a gentle and supportive environment for healing. See also: Proactive psychotherapy |
